The 33-year-old Uruguayan last defended Barcelona’s honor in the semi-final match of the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid, which took place on January 9. The Catalans lost 2: 3 to Ernesto Valverde and Luis Suarez underwent surgery on January 12 and resumed individual training only in May.
Luis Suarez has been defending Barcelona’s honor since the summer of 2014 when he moved from Liverpool. Suarez has made 23 appearances this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists.
