Luis Suarez and Fede Valverde could not help Uruguay against Ecuador. After the first win against Chile, Uruguay could not get a point in Ecuador.

Preparations

Luis Suarez is in good form. As you may know, Luis left Barcelona and joined ATletico Madrid. It was a big drama for Luis because he left a close friend – Lionel Messi. Luis Suarez could score two goals already as the main striker of Atletico Madrid. Uruguay’s coach decided to call him again and get the help from a very experienced striker. Luis Suarez was very important while playing against Chile. Uruguay won the first round match against Chile 2-1.

Luis Suarez started the match from the very first minute. His main partner in the attacking line was Gomez. Fede Valverder was in control of deep midfield along with Bentancur. Starting line-up was optimal for Oscar Tabarez.

1st half of the match

We saw too much drama in just one match. Firstly, Ecuador scored the goal and opened the score-line. Mena Delgado got the assist from the teammate and he did not hesitate to shoot the ball. In just four minutes, Luis Suarez scored the goal and started the celebration. Unfortunately for him, the VAR system decided to disallow the goal. Estrada Martinez (main striker) increased the lead to two and everything was ready for celebration when VAR entered the game. The VAR referee saw the handball from Estrada and disallowed the goal. Estrada Martinez finally scored the goal in the 45th minute. He increased the lead of Ecuador and now no one believed that Uruguay could change anything.

2nd half of the match

Uruguay started the second half with sharp attacks. In just three minutes after the starting whistle, Uruguay scored the goal but again VAR disallowed it for handball. In just a few minutes, Estrada Martinez scored his double and Ecuador was up winning with three goals gap. Plata scored the fourth goal for Ecuador and Uruguay could not change the game. By the end of the second half, Luis Suarez got the right for penalty kicks. He scored two late goals and finished the match.
