Luka Jovic feels comfortable at Eintracht

Luka Jovic has enjoyed a good run of form since leaving Real Madrid to return to Eintracht Frankfurt. The Serb has already scored three goals in just four Bundesliga appearances, averaging a goal every 35 minutes on the field. “I would say I’m a bit of a fox in the box,” Jovic said at a press conference when asked how best to describe his style of play. “I’m always in a good position, but it’s not for me to say. Others have to define that.” The forward admits that he had difficulties at Real Madrid, although it was partly up to the age when he arrived at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. “It was hard at first,” Jovic said. “I was 21 years old, and it took me a while to settle and realize that I have played with the best players in the world for the last ten years in several positions.

“I learned a lot and came back here with a lot of experience and I improved and grew at Madrid. It was an honour to play for the world’s biggest club and train daily with the best players in the world. These are the players you learn from every day. Playing against the best defenders was a good education for me”. His decision to return to the Bundesliga came as he felt the need to play more regularly. But he does not feel like a star in Germany. “My goal was to play more,” explained Jovic. “It’s the main reason I decided to go back. I’m not a star at all. I came back to regain my confidence and return to the level I was at, not being called a star. I came back here because it was the best option for me now.”
