The legendary Paolo Maldini, currently Milan’s sporting director, spoke about his club’s plans for the future.

In an interview, he also spoke about the situation at the club. After the game against Roma, the main story was that the captain of the team, Alessio Romanioli, left the bench and was replaced by the play of the newcomer Fikayo Tomora. Maldini also touched on this topic.

Maldini: “Fortunately, I work for a club that is important to the players.

When Milan calls, the players listen. Tomor also willingly agreed to a loan from Chelsea. Of course, Romaniol is not happy. None of the players are happy when they are not playing, but Milan have 17 points more this season than last year, and we are in second place despite many injuries. “Rotation is necessary and so far Romanioli has played almost all games.”

The Italian press sharply criticizes Zlatan Ibrahimovic for participating in the San Remo festival. Maldini also raised this issue, explaining that Zlatan is not to blame.

Maldini: “With the exception of San Remo, there is a lot of pressure on Zlatan and is expected to play well in every match.

Don’t deny it’s a weird week, but he won’t let the holiday affect his game. Due to the situation at the club last year, we postponed the extension of his contract – it was our fault. When he signed the contract, he told us that he had already agreed to participate in the festival and would do the same next year. “We have no doubt that he is so professional that he can easily solve this problem.”

Maldin’s question was also asked about the contracts of Donaruma and Chalhanoglu. Both contracts expire at the end of the season. The Milan director did not say much about this.

Maldini: “We can buy out Tomor.

We appreciate his game and make the appropriate decision. As for the contracts that expire after this season, we are working on their renewal, including with Zlatan, but I cannot say anything concrete. ”
