After two years of domination in the Premier League, who could believe that Manchester City would be down to 9 points from Liverpool after 15 rounds? It’s happening now, and Guardiola can’t make any changes.

Defeat against Liverpool

After a loss in Liverpool, Manchester City played against Chelsea. At home, Manchester City was successful but not good enough. Guardiola’s team could not convince fans in championship quality of play.

Manchester City could not even secure a comfortable win against Shakhtar in the Champions League. Teams played a draw, and each scored one goal.

Today City had a very tough match, but it had to be easy for them. Newcastle is not a tough opponent, but they played the perfect match.

1st half of the game

As you may know, Kun Aguero got injured last week. Pep decided to start the game with Gabriel Jesus as a center forward. Mahrez and Sterling were on the wings, and the Spanish coach hoped for easy three points.

Manchester City could not show a dominant performance in the first half. Players of City tried their best to have high possession of the ball in the first 45 minutes but very fewer shots on target.

Sterling was the first player who opened the score. After an easy tiki-taka strategy, Sterling got the ball from David Silva and scored the primary goal of the match. In just three minutes, Newcastle players answered with the same type of goal. Willems also scored a goal in the left side of the net. The first half ended in a draw.

2nd half of the match

Manchester City started the second half actively. Players did everything to score the second goal, but they were not successful until the 81st minute. Kevin De Bruyne took the ball and scored a real beauty. Everyone thought that Kevin brought three points for his team, but Shelvey had another plan.

On the 88th minute, Newcastle got a right for the cross. Despite the cross, Atsu gave a pass to Shelvey, who took the ball and gave another beautiful goal in the match. Overall, Newcastle and Manchester City played a draw. Ninety minutes were not enough to show us a winner.

Manchester City could take only one point. With this draw, Guardiola’s team may have signed out themselves from the title race.
