Manchester City are likely to lose five players on free transfers with their contracts set to end this season.

Pep Guardiola might be forced to set free Felix Nmecha, Adrian Bernabe, Fernandinho, Eric Garcia, and Sergio Aguero this summer.

Aguero has barely seen minutes come by around with Pep Guardiola opting to use Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden upfront. With the transfer period ahead, Aguero will be looking for a greener pasture. Eric Garcia, who has expressed his desire to leave, refused to sign a new contract last year.

Despite the Spanish Garcia’s almost certain to leave, Guardiola remains optimistic that he will change his mind. The Young center-back said he is focusing on this summer’s European Cup.

“My situation is the same, I have a contract with City, it is true that this year is ending and what happens outside is carried out by my agent. In summer there is the European Cup, and I have to be prepared for this,” Garcia said.

“I made the decision at the time – not to renew – and what I will do, I don’t know. The only option I have right now is to focus. Right now is to focus on the present,” he added.

Manchester City have been consistent in the league and they need only three wins to secure the English Premier League title. City, who are now 14 points clear in the league, will seek to bolster their squad.

They are reportedly on the lock-head with United and Chelsea for the Dortmund strike Erling Haaland. The English Premier League giants have all made Haaland their summer transfer priority.

Meanwhile, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling star in the England outing against San Marino. Foden, who to pull a late assist for Ollie Watkins debut goal, started on the right. Sterling also netted England’s third goal against San Marino in a match that ended in a 5-0 scoreline.
