Real have had a fantastic decade in the Champions League. Still, for Marcelo, the won titles are not enough, and he wants more.

Real Madrid have done very well in European tournaments over the past decade. The Royal Club has won the Champions League for three years in a row (2016, 2017, and 2018) and has won the most prestigious club tournament in Europe 4 times in 5 years.

Real Madrid have reached the quarter-finals of the 2019/20 Champions League season, where they lost their first match at the Santiago Bernabeu 1: 2 to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. The rematch, as you know, has been postponed due to a coronavirus pandemic.

Despite such success, the Brazilian player of the Madrid club Marcelo does not lose his motivation. The left-back thinks that he does not have enough titles and still wants to win more.

“Winning the Champions League even three times in a row and four times in five years is not what will go down in history. Although we don’t want to stop there, we want to win more titles. Whatever happens, we have to keep winning now,” said Marcelo.

The 32-year-old has made four appearances in the 2019/20 Champions League season, scoring three assists.

Marcelo: The toughest opponent? Messi

Marcelo has spoken about the most difficult opponent in his career.

“You know, everyone is playing against Real Madrid as if this match is the last one in their lives. I often go on the attack, so there is a high probability that I will have to confront someone.

The most difficult opponent … I have never played against Cristiano. I think Messi. The hypocrisy would be to name another player. But there were a lot of players against whom the game was difficult—Jesus Navas in his time. I remember being criticized for three weeks after the match against Sevilla, “AS quoted the Brazilian as saying.
