Mason Greenwood could be the top tier in today’s football, says Paul Pogba, although a Man Utd man warned that the teen should be placed in a hard graft to match his talents.

Mason Greenwood is a promising talent

After a tough start to the 2020-21 campaign, the Red Devils forward has found a timely return to form as Ole Gunnar’s side continues to push for European glory and a Premier League second-place finish, with three goals and an assist in his last five games. Paul Pogba, who made it to the sports summit as a member of France’s 2018 World Cup winning side in Russia 2018, feels that the 19-year-old has a knack for being sparing, but added that he doesn’t have to skimp on his own hype for his development.

Greenwood is a big talented player that we had from the academy, told the midfielder that he can go to the highest level, world class, it just depends on him. He has to work harder than everyone else, believe in himself and want to. When you are so talented, you already have talent, now it is only the work that you put into making you the world-class player that you must become with this talent. World-class players like Ronaldo and Messi have been top-ranked over the years. Achieving this in one year is not enough, you want to be global for your entire career.

Perfect run for Mason

The past few weeks have seen a splash for the teen who kicked off the season with Gareth Southgate’s disgraced exit from England following his debut against Iceland, thanks to a violation of Covid-19 protocols. While cellmate Phil Foden has since been reintegrated into the fold of the Three Lions as a key contender for Euro 2020, Mason appears to have burned his shot in building up the squad for a delayed tournament this summer. While he is still likely an outsider, his return to form will do no harm to his cause, with goals against Leicester, Brighton and Tottenham helping to highlight what a talent he is.
