Matteo Darmian to join Italian Serie A side Parma on a four-year deal. Former Louis Van Gaal signed the 29-year-old defender in Manchester United from Italian side Torino for £12.7m in July 2015.
Matteo Darmian is free to leave the Red Devils club. His failure to feature regularly in the last season, making seven appearances only convinced Solskjaer that he was surplus to requirements given that his contract was due to expire next summer.
At his current age of 29, Matteo Darmian did not engage himself in playing competitive matches for Manchester United since the 1-1 draw against Chelsea on April last year. Matteo only played 13 times for United from the year 2017 December. His contract was to end in 2020.
Matteo has only scored a single goal during his matches with the united and this was a score of 2-0 against Crystal Palace in 2016. This was a home victory.
Confirmation had been done by United for Darmian to move to Serie A on Monday morning. This is after Smalling Chris, former defender joins Roma over a loan a month ago. This exit tends to force Rojo Marcos to remain in the Red Devils.
On the other hand, Lukaku Romelu and Sanchez Alexis joined Inter Milan.
“Everyone at Manchester United would like to thank Matteo for his service and wish him all the best for the future,” United’s statement added.
During the permanent deal made by Louise Van Gaal, the former boss of Old Trafford, Matteo signs a total fee of £12.7m in 2015 July. Louis wishes him best of luck as a defender in his new team.
Manchester United decides to support Matteo by paying Torino a total of £12.7m and so parma issues a brief statement for conformity of Matteo’s arrival. This defender often fails to appear in the last seasons’ matches.
Solskjaer tells him his one important requirement is that his contract is due next season.
Matteo is one of the recent Manchester players to go to Italy as a new player. All the other members of the club wish him all the best.
