Luke Shaw has routinely felt the rage of current supervisor Jose Mourinho; however, his previous manager Mauricio Pochettino criticising him may come as a shock.

Luke Shaw played under the Spurs manager at Southampton and much enjoyed his time with him – to such an extent that he trusts he can work with Pochettino again eventually.

However, in a new book being brought out by journalist GuillemBalague, titled ‘Brave New World: Inside Pochettino’s Spurs,’ he seems to focus on Shaw’s demeanor.

The Argentine is cited as saying:

“I felt his head was not in the right place to make the sacrifices and decisions that are necessary at that age.”

An extremely astounding remark, especially given that Shaw talks glowingly of Pochettino in the epilogue of the very same book.

As cited by the Daily Mail, the left-back composed:

He used to call me his son, ‘That’s how good our relationship was. I’ve had lots of ups and downs, but when I was with Pochettino it was only ever up, up, up.

“He made me feel that I was the best. He’d show me clips of my games and say, ‘You could do this better’. Not in a horrible way. Not I could have done better, but I should have done better, because he knows I can be better.

“I think with Southampton he achieved the impossible. We were one of the best footballing teams in the league… I do hope that I can play for him again one day. And I think he really wants me to play under him again.”

Shaw has just barely come back from injury, developing his fitness with the United reserves before making two substitute appearances in the Carabao Cup this season.

Luke Shaw to possibly reunite with Pochettino

He’s still got Ashley Young and Daley Blind in front of him in the pecking request at United, however, and his first-team future at Old Trafford continues to look depressing.
