Is Liverpool set to snatch up a Barcelona Star?

Following the signing of Ernesto Valverde, he has decided to do a revamp of the whole squad. He’s already signed Ousmane Dembele from Dortmund for £97 million while still pursuing Philippe Coutinho despite Liverpool standing firm on their decision to not sell him.

Javier Mascherano's contract ends this season

However, despite bringing in new players, he’s looking to sell off current players who to him is considered to be no longer necessary for the team.

With Javier Mascherano’s contract expiring at the end of the season and not being offered a new one he’s, it’s speculated he’s going to be one of the players who’ll be allowed to leave. With him only playing six games this season.
And as expected he’s heavily linked to multiple teams outside of Spain and the most exciting one being his former club Liverpool.

Amongst these rumors, even Lionel Messi has started to feel that his days at Barcelona isn’t going to be around for too long.

Javier Mascherano played at Anfield from 2006-2011 and became extremely loved by the fans during that period.
However, he had brought an end to his Liverpool career after drafting a contract to sign with Barcelona, now in his eighth and possibly his last seasons playing for the Catalans.

Javier Mascherano might be returning to Liverpool

During his time here in Barcelona, Mascherano sure has won a lot, with 4 La Liga titles, 4 Copa del Rey’s and 2 Champions League Trophies.

But the likes of Juventus, PSG and MLS teams are also very interested in signing the Argentine Defender.
Will Javier Mascherano be returning to his previous club? Only time will tell.
