Barcelona captain Lionel Messi named 15 of the most talented players in modern football. The Argentine superstar also described them in two or three words and noted their strengths:

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool): “He’s a defensive tackle who’s really great at attacking. He’s the future.”

Christian Pulisic (Chelsea): “A player with good balance and speed.”

Mason Mount (Chelsea): “I saw his game, and he has the potential to become one of the best.”

Phil Foden (Manchester City): “He can do wonders. He’s a great talent.”

Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund): “He has amazing dribbling and can easily pass defenders.”

Luka Jovich (Real Madrid): “An amazing player who can make the impossible possible.”

Kai Havertz (Leverkusen Bayer): “His acting when it comes to scoring is amazing.”

Eder Militao (Real Madrid): “Phenomenal talent and amazingly competitive.”

Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona): “He is a master of the tremendous agility we often see in training.”

Kylian Mbappe (PSG): “He’s terribly fast and a good performer. He’s pretty dangerous.”

Houssem Aouar (Lyon): “When he has the ball in his feet, he is quite calm. He has excellent technique.”

Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona): “The most amazing passer who I have ever seen in his age before.”

Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid): “One of the most spectacular players in the game.”

Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich): “A remarkably talented defender who can do a lot of assists.”

Benjamin Pavard (Bayern Munich): “High-level defender who has a good shot.”

As you can see, Messi mostly focused on young rising talents, and therefore Neymar could not be included among them.

Tite: “Neymar’s best years were in Barcelona.”

Brazilian national team captain Tite talked about Neymar: “His best years were in Barcelona. He was a lot more productive there.”

“Tuchel prefers the 4-4-2 scheme, which greatly changes Ney’s role.”

“Without Ronaldo and Messi in mind, there is nowhere near a better player than Neymar. Neither Hazard, Griezmann nor Pogba.” – said the head of “Selecao.”
