The Spanish playmaker impressed on loan at San Siro last season and the Rossoneri are now looking to sign him straight.

Deals and negotiations for the signing of Brahim Diaz

Milan is in talks to sign Brahim Diaz for a permanent deal, with Real Madrid charging € 30m for the midfielder. Brahim Diaz joined Real from Man City for € 17m in January 2019, completing his three-year stint at the Etihad Stadium. The midfielder found regular playing time difficult to come along with Zidane’s after that, and despite receiving a La Liga medal in his first full season at the club, Blancos decided to send him to Milan for the 2020-21 campaign.

Brahim Diaz’s activities in Milan

Brahim impressed during his loan period at San Siro, contributing seven goals and four assists to the Rossoneri’s in 39 appearances across all competitions. The 21-year-old shone as Stefano Pioli’s side enjoyed a run into the Europa League of the past 16 and was also instrumental in helping them secure a runner-up finish in Serie A.

What will happen next ?

Brahim Diaz will return to Real when his Milan loan deal expires at the end of the month and still has four years left to run on his contract at Santiago Bernabeu – where Carlo Ancelotti has just replaced Zinedine as new head coach. The Italian giants are now trying to sign Spain’s Under-21 international frank, but the Blancos still have faith that he could become a key player for the club in the future.

Real will only authorize Brahim’s to dispatch if their € 30 million valuation is satisfied and a redemption clause is included that allows them to return it to the Bernabeu for a similar price. The 13-time European champions are also open to extending the former starter’s lease at San Siro, but it’s unclear if a compromise can be achieved with the Rossoneri.
