T-shirts worn by Real Madrid players in the match against Eibar were sold at auction. Luke Modric’s T-shirt is almost five times more expensive than Gareth Bale’s.
Real Madrid have sold their shirts, which their players wore in the 29th round of La Liga match against Eibar (3: 1), to auction. As it turns out, the T-shirt of the most expensive Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has been sold.
7 thousand euros were paid for T-shirt of the Croatian owner of the “Golden Ball”. The Belgian striker Eden Hazard’s shirt was sold for 3.2 thousand euros. On the other hand the shirts of Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale were sold for € 3.1 thousand and € 1.5 thousand, respectively.
The money raised at the auction will be used by the Real Social Sports Projects Foundation.
The Madrid club intends to sell the players’ shirts at auctions from all the matches they will play at the Alfredo Di Stefano Arena in the rest of the season.
At the next auction, Real will present the T-shirts of the last round match of the Spanish Championship. Recall that Zinedine Zidane’s team beat Valencia in the last match (3: 0). Given that Karim Benzema scored a double in this match, it is likely that the most valuable lot at the auction will be the T-shirt of the French striker.
After 29 rounds in La Liga, Real have 62 points and are second in the table. Zidane’s team is 2 points behind the leader Barcelona.
