The Liverpool forward, Mo Salah has returned a positive coronavirus test meaning he will have to continue his period of self-isolation. He will be unavailable for the Reds Premier League meeting with Leicester City this Sunday. On November 14th, the Egyptian FA had announced the Liverpool star was asymptomatic and now, they confirm he has tested positive for the virus despite the initial confusion.

Drawing from the latest positive results, it is however unclear when Salah will be allowed back in the UK as he contracted the virus while on international duty.

It is also not clear how the Egyptian King contracted the virus. Although, criticisms have circulated that is was during his brother’s wedding ceremony while on the international break.

On the Champions League, Klopp’s side will face Atalanta three days after their scheduled fixture with the Foxes. The said will thereafter travel to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton on the 28th of November.  It is unfortunate Salah will have to miss his side’s Premier League and Champions League matches.

Additionally, the latest announcement from the Egyptian FA also confirmed Arsenal’s midfielder, Mohamed Elneny failed to return a negative test result. Therefore, he will also have to remain in self-isolation.
