The whole of football in Germany (and not only Germany) was expecting this, and it is finally decided that the Bundesliga will return on May 16. Players and clubs must follow strict rules of hygiene, and matches will be held without spectators.
As it turns out, not everyone in Bundesliga agrees with the return of big football in May. Berlin Union player Neven Subotic has criticized everyone who contributes to this decision.
“It doesn’t matter when we start. It will be an early decision. If we resume playing football in a few weeks, it will be too early. In my opinion, even a renewal after a few months of the season could be wrong, ”the 31-year-old central defender told BBC World.
“The decision puts money ahead of human health.”
Subotic, who played for Borussia Dortmund and Cologne before moving to the Berlin Union, has been taking special care of the environment for several years and has participated in a number of Eco-programs. He has also changed his lifestyle – for example, he no longer has a car and uses public transport for training.
The player of the Union believes that the decision of the German government and the Football League, according to which the first and second Bundesliga teams will be renewed on May 16, puts money ahead of human health.
“Financial aspects have come to the fore. I am sure that a lot of people don’t agree with that decision. ” – said Neven Subotic, a two-time German champions who have made 19 appearances for the Union this season.
There have 25 rounds already been held in the Bundesliga. Subotic’s Union is in 11th place with 30 points. In the 26th round, the Berliners will host Bayern Munich. The match will be held on May 17.
