Neymar equates his relationship with the Paris Saint Germain fans with that one of girlfriend. But still, the supporters continue to express their dissatisfaction towards him.
The Brazilian informed the club of his interest to leave in the summer. However, with his desires to move to former to his employers Barcelona, a deal could not be agreed.
None of the parties involved could successfully negotiate and the clubs believed they could not finalize the deal.
Neymar shocked the world in 2017 when he let the Camp Nou for a world-record fee of £200m. But the player has been recently hampered by injury and his relationship with PSG supporters has been fraught.
Since then, the PSG fans heave repeatedly booed and jeered him even after his impressive performance. The fans are showing their displeasure at his lack of commitment to the club.
However, his latest comments suggest he is willing to rebuild bridges with his team.
Neymar has scored three goals in four games this season. This included a stunning overhead kick against Strasbourg and he is sure that this will eventually get the fans back onside.
The player remains one of the best on the planet and he will drive PSG’s ambition to retain the French title.
He said, “I am here to help Paris Saint Germain. I am here to do my job as an athlete of the club. I will give my life in the pitch to bring victories to Paris so, in the end, we can celebrate together.”
“I believe that it is like a relationship. Sometimes you end up arguing with your girlfriend and then you end up not talking to her for a while.”
“But later, with lots of love and lots of care, everything is back to normal.”
More importantly, PSG will want to win their UEFA Champions League and Neymar has the quality and experience needed to help the club achieve their biggest ambition.
