As expected, the French Ligue 1, which will no longer end the season due to government regulation, has declared Paris Saint-Germain champions of the country.

As you may know, all sports activities in France were banned until September. So two days ago, the season was declared over. Accordingly, the LFP has officially decided to award the title to the Parisian team after the disruption of the season.

Due to the world pandemic of Coronavirus, PSG was ahead of Marseille by 12 points in the championship that was suspended after March 13.

“Paris Saint-Germain are the French champions of 2019/20. This is the ninth title of the capital’s club and thus equalized with Marseille,” writes the official page of Ligue 1.

In France, everything is decided.

The final table of League 1 was formed on the principle of sports – average score in the match.

Paris Saint-Germain have won seven of their last eight seasons and now share second place with Marseille with nine titles. The most titled club in France is still Saint-Etienne – the Greens have become French champions ten times. However, their last success was in 1981.

PSG, Marseille, and Rennes will play in the Champions League. Lille, Reims, and Nice – on the European League. Amiens and Toulouse have been relegated, with Lorraine and Lance playing in Ligue 1 instead.

As for the cup final, where PSG and Saint-Etienne have passed, the final may still be held when the government allows it.
