As it was initially predicted, Paris Saint-Germain easily made life difficult for Montpellier players. Accordingly, Tuchel’s men recorded their third consecutive and impressive victory in L1.

PSG hosted MHSC at Parc Des Princes and enjoyed their advantage since the very beginning of the match. As soon as the game started, it already became clear that Montpellier did not have the strength to provide decent resistance.

The First Half

At the 8th minute, Pablo Sarabia fired a brilliant shot in the right post and scored the first goal against Montpellier.

At 17th min, the referee showed a red card to Montpellier’s goalkeeper for handling outside the box. Accordingly, Dimitry Bertaud had to leave the peach immediately.

Since that moment, Montpellier finally lost control (if they ever had).

After Sarabia’s successful assist inside the box, Di Maria spotted Montpellier’s second goalkeeper Matis Carvalho off his line and finally successfully chipped the ball into the net.

Only three minutes later, Montpellier’s absolutely disorientated defender Daniel Congre accidentally put the ball into their own net.

So, the first half finished with a 3-0 victory for PSG.

The Second Half

The situation was quite similar in the second half. PSG maintained their dominance, and att 57th minute Neymar Jr. showed an excellent vision to find Kylian Mbappe with a cheeky assist inside the box. Mbappe successfully sent the ball to the bottom right corner.

Eight minutes later, PSG scored again. Layvin Kurzawa fired the rebound into the bottom right corner of the net and scored the fifth goal.

By now, PSG has already scored in 53 of their 55 L1 home games, where they won 48, lost only two, and finished five in a draw. According to these impressive statistics, the Parisians successfully establish a top position in L1 standings. They went 13 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after yesterday’s match.
