Solskjaer will fly to Marbella with his players on Saturday morning. Surprisingly, Paul Pogba is not among the traveling team. He was axed out. However, speculations claim the French international is edging closer to United transfer exit.

According to Daily Star, Solskjaer told Pogba he was not needed on the trip to Spain. The Norwegian has left him to his own devices as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

The coach is reluctant to have him around the squad despite the player being well-liked in the dressing room.

Solskjaer claimed Pogba would be out for “three or four weeks” six weeks ago. This after the midfielder underwent a minor ankle injury. But, reports have claimed he (Pogba) had told team-mates he still wants to leave the club and his mission comes as a clear sign he could be set for an exit.

The 26-year-old has made it clear he wants a new challenge. Club’s bosses might have to sell him to the highest bidder in the summer amid Real Madrid and Juventus interest.

Senior figures in United are now no longer going through the motions insisting he will stay at the club with his departure looking increasingly inevitable.

Due to his injury nightmare, Pogba has made eight appearances this season. he has spent the majority of his recovery time away from Manchester but had a cast removed last month with Solskjaer insisting he is “desperate to play football.”

“Paul had a terrible season with injuries. He is desperate to play football.” Said Solskjaer last month.
