Saturday night was interesting because of two derbies. One was played in Manchester and second in Madrid. The La Liga match was way interesting as teams were playing with good attacking lines.
Consistency from Real Madrid?
Both teams played their respective matches in the Champions League. Atletico is second in the group and he may get a serious opponent in the next round of CL. Real Madrid defeated Monchengladbach and won the group. Both teams will find out their next opponent in CL on Monday. Both teams were very tired for Saturday’s game as they had only two days for preparations.
Zidane started the match with Vinicius and Lucas on the wings. Karim Benzema was playing as the striker. Dani Carvajal and Casemiro are back and they performed well in both halves. Real Madrid started playing aggressively in the attacking line from the very first minute. Los Blancos could score a goal very soon after Oblak made a big save of Benzema’s shot. Casemiro scored a goal and it was really good header from Brazillian.
Another goal in second half and domination of the pitch
Real Madrid was close to the second goal in just a few minutes after the start of the second half. Real Madrid soon scored second and it was from Dani Carvajal. Both players, Casemiro and Dani just returned from injuries and they saved an important match for Los Blancos. Dani Carvajal scored a goal but in the end, the referee decided that it was an own goal from Oblak. Real Madrid dominated the whole match and Atletico could not make a serious impact. Simeone made five substitutions but could not have a final impact on the result. It was visible that Zidane is really happy after injured players return. After the match, Zizou said that Modric and Kroos are brilliant players.
