The 41-year-old Italian spoke about the first steps in his coaching career. Pep Guardiola is the best example for Andrea Pirlo.

Start of coaching career: “From the time I finished my football career, I started to study, and I noticed that my passion for this job was growing day by day.  I have had many brilliant coaches in my career, first Lucescu, then Lippi, Ancelotti, Conte and Allegri. I was lucky enough to work with world-class specialists and tried to get something from everyone. Pep Guardiola, of course, is an example for everyone, he is a role model for young coaches.”

Coaching former teammates: “They quickly understood what my role was. They help me a lot because they know what it means to play and win here. I think there is more stress in coaching than in playing football. When I was on the field, I was in charge of the game, the ball was with me, and it was easy. Now I can only give a few instructions.

On Cristiano Ronaldo: “He is a symbol of world football. It gives my team and me big pleasure to watch him train and play. He works like a little boy at the age of 35. He is exemplary.”

… About the Champions League: “Every team in the Champions League is strong, and it takes a lot of concentration and the same enthusiasm to play with them. The most difficult period starts in March, you need to be lucky in the draw.”

Recall that Andrea Pirlo took over from Juventus in August on a 2-year contract. Under his leadership, the Turin Grand played two games, beating Genoa Sampdoria 3: 0, and Roma – 2: 2.
