As it stands, it is only a matter of when, and not if, for Liverpool to lift the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool continued their relentless pursuit of ending the Premier League title drought. The club recorded another hard-fought 3-2 victory against West Ham United.

West Ham managed to give the leaders a fright. They looked in more control of the match until the hour mark. But a goal from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane made sure that Liverpool came out on top after the clock stopped ticking.

Deservingly, Paul Pogba admitted Liverpool are way ahead of the other contenders this year. Despite admitting the fact, Pogba says the historical rivalry between the two clubs does not allow him to take pleasure from watching the league trophy go to Anfield.

He said, “They have not lost a single game yet this season in the league. They already have on hand on the Premier League trophy.”

“As a Manchester United player and with the rivalry between us, we don’t want them to win the title. We don’t want anyone else to win apart from us. But as a football lover and a respectful player to the opposition team, I have to say that they deserve to be where they are today.” Added Pogba.

Pogba drops hints on his return from injury

The Frenchman has been out since Boxing Day with an ankle injury. Recently, Pogba has posted a new update hinting he is close to a return to action for Manchester United.

Pogba has not played since his comeback over Christmas was cut short. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer initially ruled him out for around three weeks but his return has been delayed more than once.

The French International did not travel with United to their warm-weather training camp over the winter break. Instead, he worked individually in Dubai all the while posting regular videos of his progress on Instagram.

Pogba has offered an update on his progress as he uploaded a high-production video to Instagram of how he has been working on his fitness.

The video shows Pogba running in a swimming pool, working in the gym on various exercises and heading into a low-temperature chamber.

He thereafter captions the video with “soon” along with an egg-timer emoji and a football.
