On Thursday night, Barcelona got a firm 5-0 victory against Leganes. After struggling against UD Ibiza last week without Messi, Quique Setien called up the attacker for this last-16 clash.

It should be noted that Barcelona are not in their former shape. And if not Lionel Messi, they would have already become an average rate club. Let’s face the truth and say that Setien’s men seem a bit relaxed and confused lately. That explains all club’s past struggling matches without the Argentine Attacker.

Match Review:

Griezmann, managed to help Barca lead on the fourth minute as he slid a low shot into the corner. Later, Barca’s Defender Clement Lenglet scored the second goal and made it 2-0.

Barca had complete control over the whole match, and Leganes was not likely to score even a single goal.

Messi made it 3-0 at 59th minute when he hit a shot that found its way into the net after clipping the heel of Leganes defender. With his impressive goal, Messi reminded the football fans about who makes the game in Barca.

At the 77th minute, Ivan Rakitic put a dangerous cross into the box, but the first man cleared the corner. The rebound fell to Arthur, and he fired from close range. Arthur made the score 4-0.

At 88th minute, Rakitic slid a low ball pass-through for Messi. He ran on and found himself one-on-one against the keeper. Soon after, the Argentine attacker managed to find the back of the net.

Now Barcelona is advanced to the last eight and will find out about their quarter-final rival after Friday’s draw.
