Real Madrid is the champion of Spain. So, now the goal of the ‘Royal Club’ is to win the Champions League. Raphael Varane spoke about the upcoming UCL match against Manchester City.

 

Real Madrid are the champions of the 2019/20 La Liga season. After the success in Spain, the “Royal Club” ‘s main goal is to win the Champions League. The situation of Madrid in the league is not so easy.

On 27 February at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real lost 1: 2 to Manchester City in the first leg of the quarter-finals. After a heavy defeat at home, it became difficult to go to the next stage, and maybe the Madrid club will reach the eighth final for the second time in a row.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the return meeting has been postponed, and it will be held on 7 August. The match will be at the Etihad in Manchester, and the Spanish club needs to score at least twice in order to advance to the next stage. The task is difficult though not impossible.

Raphael Varane, the 27-year-old central defender of the Madrid club, spoke about the meeting with Manchester City. The French say nothing is impossible, and they will fight to the end to reach the quarter-finals.

Raphael Varane (Real): “This is Real Madrid, and anything is possible. Even if the situation is difficult, there is always hope. When you wear this shirt, you owe it to yourself. This is a debt we owe to our fans. It is impossible to predict the outcome, but we will fight to the end. ”

Raphael Varane has played 32 matches in the 2019/20 La Liga season, where he has shown himself with two goals and one assist.
