Frankfurt want to sign Raul as their next coach

Real Madrid legend Raul, who returned with the Galacticos as manager of their Castilla side, is required by Eintracht Frankfurt as their next coach. The former Spain international forward who spent time in Germany with Schalke towards the end of his playing career is lined up to return to the Bundesliga this summer. Initial negotiations between Eintracht Frankfurt and Raul have taken place, but further meetings were postponed until the end of the season as both sides are working towards the end of 2020-21 on a positive note. The 43-year-old secured his iconic status with Real Madrid to take in 741 appearances for the La Liga giants. He scored 323 goals across those outings while netting 44 times in earning 102 caps with Spain.

The Madrid legend is now trying to get Castilla advanced to the second division

His position in the global game makes him attractive to teams around the world, and his coaching teeth are being cut back in Madrid’s familiar surroundings. The German side have been monitoring Raul’s progress in the dugout for over a year. He enjoyed the success of the UEFA Youth League after initially joining the academy ranks back at Santiago Bernabeu and is now trying to get Castilla advanced to the Spanish second division. Raul has overseen the development of talented candidates such as Chust, Miguel Gutierrez, Sergio Arribas and Antonio Blanco, with senior acceptance already coming their way. Moreover, there has been talk that a promotion could be earned at Real Madrid if Zinedine Zidane were to step down from the most demanding of managerial roles this summer.

The Frenchman, who is believed to be increasingly tired of the stresses in Madrid, is tied to a contract until 2022 and may decide to honour that agreement, which would leave a door open for others to make a move for Raul. However, Eintracht put the groundwork in place there and believes they may have found the ideal candidate to fill the dugout.
