Before the clash of El Clasico, Real Madrid lost the home match. Cadiz, a newly promoted team, could get an easy win in Madrid.

The national break affected on Los Blancos

Starting line-up of Los Blancos was mostly filled with the players who were travelling the last two weeks. National break affected Los Blancos gradually. For instance, Zidane could not use Martin Odegaard who got injured. Norwegian player will miss two weeks due to a hamstring injury. At the same time, Luka Modric played two full matches for Croatia. Although Luka was very tired, Zidane has no other chances rather than putting him in the starting line-up.

Real Madrid’s starting line-up was very interesting. Karim Benzema was the main striker while Vinicius Junior and Lucas Vazquez were playing on the sides. Keep in mind that Luka Modric, Kroos and Isco were playing from the deep. Marcelo was left back and Nacho was playing against his brother on the right side.

Last time REal Madrid played an official match against Cadiz was in 2006. Back then, David Beckham and Roberto Carlos scored goals at the Bernabeu. Unfortunately to Los Blancos fans, the team lost the first home-match of the season.

0-1 and disappointed Zidane

Real Madrid conceded a goal in the first half. To be more specific, Zidane has to be grateful to Thibaut Courtois as he had 5 saves that could be goals. Negredo (Real’s ex-player) had many chances in the first half but could not convert. On the other hand, Negredo’s partner could convert the shot and score the goal. Zidane was so disappointed in the starting line-up that he replaced four players in the 46th minute.

Real Madrid could make a serious impact. Although Los BLancos had a ball possession higher than 75%, the team could not convert it into serious moments. We can only recall the moment when Karim Benzema hit the post with a crazy shot.
