Reece James’ revolution has begun at Stamford Bridge this season both on the pitch and in the technical area. Frank Lampard in his 2nd season in top-level management has given key roles to some top-class Chelsea youngsters.

One of the fantastic young talents is Reece James. The Englishman has now made the transition to Premier League football and is thriving in the right-back position for Chelsea.

As a right-back, James is the full package. He is blessed with a dominant physique paired with a wand of a right foot. He has made himself difficult to get past and dangerous when in a position to cross.

The young defender has made 18 appearances for the Blues after scoring on his debut in a 7-1 victory over Grimsby in the Carabao Cup third round in September.

“It has been my dream to be here at Chelsea and play week in week out.” Said, James.

“To have a contract for another five-and-a-half year is living the dream again. It means a lot to me and my family. I have always wanted to be here.”

The 20-year-old signed for Chelsea at under-nine level having trained at Cobham since the age of six.

Marina Granovskaia added, “The smooth way Reece has fitted into the team so quickly despite missing the start of the season has been clear for everyone to see.”

“Reece started his football education with us at the age of six. His performances on loan at Wigan last season paved the way for a strong beginning to his career in the Chelsea team.”

“We are very pleased. He now has the perfect opportunity to build on that and become a major player for us for many years to come.”
