Richarlison: Virgil Van Dijk is not the best defender
As you know, the Merseyside derby will be held on Sunday. Richarlison has already attacked the opponent and commented about Virgil Van Dijk.
On Sunday, June 21, Liverpool will hold their first meeting after the pause caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. Liverpool need two wins to win the English Championship after a 30-year hiatus.
After a forced pause, Liverpool will face Everton. The Merseyside derby will be held without spectators, though fans are still expecting a tense and spectacular meeting.
Everton player Richarlison has already started a verbal war with Liverpool while commenting on the Merseyside derby. The Brazilian striker also spoke about the Reds’ defensive leader, Virgil Van Dijk. According to the Brazilian striker, Virgil is not the best defender. On the other hand, the 23-year-old has named three defenders who he believes are better than Van Dijk.
“People talk a lot about Van Dijk. Yes, he’s a great defender. But when I played against Liverpool, I beat him a few times. He’s been named one of the top three players in the world because he’s had a good season. However, there are better defenders for me than him, and they are: Sergio Ramos, Thiago Silva, and Marquinhos, “Richarlison said.
