Lewandowski has no intention of leaving Germany

Robert Lewandowski has admitted that he’s a fan of Italian football, but the Bayern Munich forward suggested that the Serie A move would not be made any time soon. The prolific Poland international has seen a switch speculated on the direction of the summer transfer window. It reported that the 32-year-old might be open to taking on a new challenge. He has, however, closed this gossip for the time being, with a man linked to a contract at the Allianz Arena until 2023, claiming that he has no intention of leaving Germany. Quizzed by journalists about whether a stint in Italy could appeal to him, Lewandowski said: “I’ve talked to a lot of people about Italian football; they told me different things about your league. I know some clubs well because I faced them in the UEFA Champions League.”

A new chapter will open with Nagelsmann

“The truth is, however, that in addition to having a contract with Bayern Munich, I feel great with this team.” Lewandowski has remained a talismanic person for Bayern in the 2020-21 campaign, helping them capture their ninth consecutive Bundesliga title while netting 46 goals in all competitions. So there is no reason for Lewandowski to leave, with a fresh start of things about to be introduced to him as Julian Nagelsmann is preparing to take over the Munich management from Hansi Flick. “A new chapter will open,” Lewandowski added of the changes being lined up at Bayern. “But what Hansi did will go down in the club’s history because it’s something epic. In 2020, we lifted all kinds of trophies and broke many records with him. We are Bayern, so we will give everything to try to win everything with Nagelsmann.”

“For me, it will not change much: I have to score with Flick, and I have to do the same with the new boss to help the squad. Scoring goals is what I love. When I score, and we win, everything looks prettier to me.”
