The Brazilian admits that his side may not be the favourite to win the title but believes Real have a chance to win it. “The further you go in this competition, the more difficult it gets. By this point, all the teams are powerful, and Liverpool is one of them,” he said. “They will be two important games, for sure, and very much even. Real Madrid against Liverpool is always a game between two historical giants of world football. I remember the final of 2018 well. I saw it and was already cheering for Madrid. It was an extraordinary and memorable final”. Rodrygo praised his compatriot Casemiro for his influence on the team and for how he helped him settle in the Spanish capital.
“He’s a phenomenon and he’s a guy who has helped me a lot since I came here,” Goes said. “He’s a wonderful person. I saw him play on TV, and I thought he was an incredible player, but he’s even better than I thought. Casemiro is, without a doubt, the best midfielder in football.” The Brazil international is confident that Real Madrid can win titles this season. “Of course we can, for sure. There are many points to play for. We are working very hard. Last year we were behind Barcelona but collected a winning streak and won LaLiga,” he noted. “We have to do the same again. This team is always fighting to the end, and we have a lot of quality. I think everything is going well at the right time and that we have a good chance of becoming champions.”
