Romelu Lukaku said he hopes to continue at Inter after winning Serie A and described the 2020-21 campaign as the best season of his career to date.
Romelu Lukaku happy for everyone
The Inter were crowned champions of Italy on Sunday after Atalanta went to a 1-1 draw at Sassuolo, with Antonio Conte delivering the club’s first title since 2009-10. Romelu Lukaku played a huge role in the success of the Nerazzurri with his prolific form in the final third, and expressed his desire to continue the fight for trophies at San Siro for the foreseeable future ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Inter striker, who has been linked to a return to the Premier League, said last year was good too, but it was the best of his career. He says it’s great and he hopes to continue like this and he wants to thank everyone, he really is so happy. Romelu added that he is so happy for all the Inter fans in the world, for the team, staff, President and everyone.
Romelu’s record this season
Romelu has already scored 41 appearances in all competitions for the Inter this time, scoring 27 goals. 21 of those efforts came from Serie A, a number that superstar Juve Ronaldo only improved, while he also provided nine assists for his teammates.
Lukaku is happy in the current environment
Man City and Chelsea are reportedly weighing summer relocation for Romelu Lukaku, who is now entering the prime years of his career at 27. However, the Belgian international still has three years left to run on his contract at San Siro, and has put his ill-fated period at Man Utd between 2017 and 2019 behind to rediscover his best form in Italy. Romelu insisted that he is happy in his current environment and if the Internet does not receive an astronomical bid when the market reopens, the veteran frontman will likely stay in place for at least one more season.
