Romelu Lukaku has stated that he will fight to the death for Antonio Conte, welcoming the Inter boss after Scudettos triumph in 2020-21.

Conte speaks absolute truth

Antonio Conte delivered Inter’s their first Serie A crown in 11 years over the weekend as his side was crowned champions in Atalanta’s 1-1 draw with Sassuolo. Romelu has made a stellar contribution to the Nerazzurri cause, scoring 21 goals in 33 league appearances and credits his coach for helping take his game to the next level. The Belgian striker said he would have fought for him to the death. He couldn’t join him at Chelsea but always said he would play for him the day he left Man Utd. According to him, Antonio Conte told him very bluntly that if they are not working in training they will not play, it is important that they know how to play with their backs to the goal. It’s important to meet people who are telling the absolute truth to help improve them.

Now or never

Romelu Lukaku began his career at Anderlecht before moving on to playing for Chelsea, Everton and Man Utd, highlighting his reputation as one of the most prolific Premier League strikers along the way. However, the Belgian faced a lot of criticism at United for his perceived lack of quality on the ball and sharpness in the final third, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ultimately making the decision to move on in the summer of 2019. Inter poured £ 73m into Lukaku, which paid off every penny of that royalties under Conte’s, scoring 61 goals in his first 92 appearances for the club in all competitions. Romelu confessed his relief after winning only his second career trophy in the form of the Serie A title, insisting that he always valued the team silver above individual records. He also said that he thought it was now or never and that 500 goals could be scored in a career, but if you don’t win in the end, it’s all in vain.
