The former Red Devils frontman believes his compatriot is offering a lot at Old Trafford, despite criticism of his hitting bet in 2020-21.

Saha admires the skills and personality of Anthony Martial

Manchester United warned against unloading the “unique” Anthony Martial, while Louis Saha was of the opinion that his French counterpart remained a “top player”. Edinson Cavani was called in to fight for that position, with the release of conversation sparked around Boas in the 2020-21 campaign, who saw him record just seven goals.

Former United and France frontman Saha told journalists “I think he’s a top player, that’s for sure. I think when you’re No.9 and don’t score it’s hard because people ask you to score goals. Exactly.”

You have to be strong and believe.

“When you don’t score, you will be criticized. You have to be strong and believe. You also have to be selfish and adopt a style of play that you really like. That’s why he gets criticism. It’s not about his talent or desire, because he is sure of it.

Saha continued and said that sometimes it’s Martial’s expression. The goal obsession makes it easier because people say he’s out of luck, but you can see when he’s in his comfort zone people get on his back. “I really don’t think about letting him go in the summer. Man United should not let him go because he can be the kind of player who completes the punching force as unique in the way he plays.

The 25-year-old was brought to Old Trafford by Louis van Gaal during the summer of 2015. He made an immediate impact at Manchester, with 17 goals recorded in his debut campaign. Martial hit a personal high during the 2019-20 campaign, his first to fly down the middle on a regular basis, with a target found 23 times.
