Sheffield United were in advance considered as favorites to win this match against Bournemouth. On the other hand, the visitors were without several first-team regulars. So the game was more challenging for Bournemouth.

The First Half


The first half of the match started with an ongoing clash between the teams in order to gain an advantage on the ball. After an intensive pressure, Bournemouth managed to make two consecutive attempts at the 13th minute and Callum Wilson successfully transformed the second one into the goal.

Since then, Sheffield United increased their pressing on guests in order to the goal back. At 27th minute Bournemouth earned a corner that they almost transformed into another goal. But Sheffield’s goalkeeper, Henderson, saved the net very convincingly.

Henderson was outstanding once again when Bournemouth’s players launched another attempt at 42nd minute. Sheffield’s goalkeeper impressively saved the net. Since then, Bournemouth started attacking continuative, and at the second additional minute, Billy Sharp scored an impressive goal. Accordingly, the first half finished with 1-1 draw.


The Second Half


After the break, both teams started the second half in an aggressive playing style. On the 52nd minute, two opposing players collided with each other, which caused a heated argument between Wilder and Surman. As a result, both Sheffield’s coach and Bournemouth’s player got yellow cards.

At the 60th minute, Bournemouth failed to transform their corner into a goal. Eleven minutes later, they earned one more corner, but Bournemouth made the same mistake again.

There were several more unsuccessful but impressive attempts created by both sides. And at the 84th minute, Lundstram scored a beautiful goal for Sheffield. Noteworthy, that he had come to the pitch just several minutes earlier.The remaining time was not enough for Bournemouth to change the scoring anymore, and finally, Sheffield United won 2-1 that match.
