Spending a lot of money on transfers is a familiar story for Manchester United. Or maybe it was! As it turns out, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to change the transfer strategy.

In the 2014-2015 season, the Mancunians bought Angel di Maria (from Real Madrid) for 75 million euros. Anthony paid 60 million for Martial (Monaco) in 2015/2016. In 2016/2017, they returned Paul Pogba (from Juventus) for 105 million. In 2017/2018, Lukaku (Everton) bought him for around 85 million euros. And for the 2018/2019 season, they paid 59 million to Shakhar in exchange for Fred.

Before this season, the most valuable acquisition of United was Harry Maguire. They transferred Maguire to Old Trafford from Leicester for 87 million euros. The Mancunians have also transferred Bruno Fernandez (55 million from Sporting) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (55 million from Crystal Palace). Nevertheless, United are in 5th place in the Premier League and are in danger of losing their way to the Champions League.

Logically, United should have made at least one big transfer in the summer of 2020. But most likely, this will not happen this year.

Kane is virtually out of the question.

United’s head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided to focus on young players for several reasons, according to the Guardian.

According to the Guardian, United are rejecting the main transfer target – Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane. The reason for this, first of all, is, of course, the coronavirus crisis, which will deepen further by the summer. Kane is worth about 150 million euros, and at such times it is already an astronomical number.

Rashford, Greenwood, and Sancho?

The Guardian writes that Solskjaer has full confidence in 22-year-old Marcus Rashford, who has scored 22 goals in 22 PL games this season. The same goes for 18-year-old forward Mason Greenwood, who also scored 5 goals in 22 games and attracted attention. Moreover: Sulsher believes that Greenwood is better than all the players of United in the crowning phase.

As it turns out, after the refusal to Kane, the only transfer that is still being considered at United is the transfer of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Indeed, the 20-year-old Sancho is not cheap either. But compared to Kane, his price is very low.
