Tottenham’s attacker, Son Heung-min has been quarantining in his hotel room ahead of South Korea’s match against Mexico after team-mates and staff member tests positive for coronavirus.
Currently, the South Korea team is suffering an outbreak of the coronavirus within its ranks. The outbreak has resulted in four players and an unidentified staff member test positive for the virus according to Korea Herald. Moreover, Son Heung min has been forced to self-isolate as he awaits coronavirus test results.
The Korea Football Association has made it known that the five who have tested positive are asymptomatic and the status of Saturday’s friendly with Mexico depends on further testing to take place on the day.
Consequently, Tottenham fans will be crossing everything in hope that Son Heung Min does not contract the virus given his scintillating form for the club this season.
His partnership with the England captain, Harry Kane up top for Jose Mourinho’s side has been extremely productive with the pair providing 25 goal contributions between them.
Alone, the 28-year-old has registered eight goals in as many Premier League appearances. Additionally, Son is a vital member of the North London club’s attacking trident. Despite the fact, the Spurs attacker will be forced to miss next weekend’s match with Manchester City if the results confirm he has contracted the virus.
