Zidane is reluctant to pick up on rumors suggesting Ronaldo could be taken back to Real from Juventus

The Blancos boss remains a big fan of the magnificent Portuguese.

Questions are asked how long the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will hold out in Turin, with criticism leveled at him on the back of another disappointing Champions League entry in the last 16 for Juve.

Ronaldo, now 36, is also approaching the final 12 months of his contract in Italy, leading to reports that those at Santiago Bernabeu are being offered the chance to greet a familiar face in their books.

Ronaldo is great – Zidane

Zidane told reporters when he doubted Ronaldo’s speculation: “You know who he is, what he did and how much we love him. He made history here, he’s great. He’s a Juve player now, and I can’t tell you anything about what the Media is saying. He’s a Juve player, and I have to respect those things.”

A record transfer took Ronaldo to Madrid from Manchester United in the summer of 2009. He hit the ground while running in Spain and did not miss a landmark nine-year stint that earned a historic 450 head gain over 438 runs. The all-time great helped Blancos with two La Liga titles, leading their line, as well as claiming four Champions League crowns and three Club World Championship victories. Raphael Varane sees a departure from Madrid as he delays signing a deal renewal that will expire in 2022. Manchester United is among those credited with having an interest in the French World Cup winning international, but Zidane saw nothing to suggest that the French counterpart was ready to move on.

He said of the 27-year-old center-half: “I don’t think he thinks about clubs other than Real. He always said that, always spoke highly of the club. I think he is very happy. I only see him here.

On the arrivals front, exciting midfielder Rennes Eduardo Camavinga continues to tie heavily with the switch to Spain, but Zidane keeps his cards close to his chest there. He said of the talented 18-year-old: “He is not our player. He is a good player, yes, he is young and he has a future, but I will not say anything else. He is not our player.
