Gianni Infantino responded to the idea of the European Super League. The president of FIFA is against the idea and has another plan.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino is not at all interested in the idea of creating a European Super League. Instead, the 50-year-old functionary talked about totally different plans.
“For me, the main thing is not Bayern-Liverpool, but, for example, Bayern-Boca Juniors,” Infantino told CH Media.
The FIFA president has stated that he is interested in the World Club Championship and not the Super League. Infantino added that in his opinion, in the future, clubs not only in Europe but also on other continents should be appreciated internationally and have more fans. In addition, the president of FIFA promised the German fans: “Do not worry, we will not take any Grand Bundesliga.”
As you may know, there were rumors a few days ago that the European Premier League might be established, where the 18 best clubs on the continent will play. It turned out that a certain group of investors is ready to finance this project with 5 billion euros. This topic was followed by great discussions. For example, the winner of the Champions League, Bayern Munich chef Karl-Heinz Rummenigge strongly criticized the idea, noting that the record holder is very pleased with the Champions League.
