Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel doesn’t want to gloat after reaching the Champions League final, while former side PSGs have crashed out of competition.

Tuchel is happy to have come this far

Thomas made the final for the second time in a row, bringing Paris Saint-Germain to the same stage last season before they lost to Bayern Munich, but the German coach was fired by French giants in December and turned to blame the Blues. While Thomas’ new team was advancing into the decisive Champions League semi-final win over Real, Paris Saint-Germain was knocked out by Man City at the same stage. The 47-year-old doesn’t feel like he had a rematch over Paris Saint-Germain, however, and says he’s just happy to have come this far.

When asked whether he perceived additional satisfaction from the death of Paris Saint-Germain to journalists, he replied that no, he did not have these feelings. Of course, it is very pleasant on a personal level to be there again, but not because of what happened in December. He is just absolutely grateful to come to the Champions League final again because it is absolutely huge. Thomas is grateful for the opportunity to work in football in general and at that level, and super grateful for the people around him who push him, give him confidence and trust, and having a challenge now here in Chelsea feels so good from the first moment.

This is what he enjoys

According to him, coming to Istanbul with this club and team is a huge reward for him personally, but not in such terms as he said about any revenge or unnecessary satisfaction that Paris Saint-Germain is not there. Thoman also said that he is there, he does not think that in these terms, it is always a team effort, they try, like any team, to have the greatest success and that is absolutely right, where they are now, and this is what he enjoys.
