Atletico Madrid played an outstanding away match in Valencia. The team has a game in the Champions League next week, so they played on Friday evening.

Pre-match preparations

Atletico Madrid is the fourth team in La Liga. Getafe could outperform Simeone’s side in the last round, and now the Madrid team has to prove that they are still a powerful team. Valencia lost the previous match against Getafe while Atletico could win with only one goal difference.

1st half of the match

As you may know, Joao Felix and Trippier have injuries. It’s a big problem for Simeone, so he has to adapt to new changes. Simeone decided to sit Alvaro on the bench and play two attacking forwards. Atletico’s coach trusted Correa and Vitolo from the start.

Atletico Madrid started the match with high pressure. The team wanted to score in the first minutes of the game, but they could score only in the 15th minute. Real Madrid’s ex-player, Marco Llorente, could score a goal easily. Marco’s scored a goal after the cross in the penalty area where no one could disturb him. Gabriel Paulista was a leading player who had to do something against Llorente.

Madrid team was leading the first half until the 40th minute. Valencia started a sharp attack in the second part of the first half. After another corner kick, Atletico’s defenders could not avoid the goal. After the cross from Gomez, Paulista scored a game-tying goal.

In just three minutes, Atletico Madrid answered Valencia. Madrid scored the second goal, and Thomas gave a lead to the team. In the 43rd minute, Thomas’s shot was so good that the goalkeeper could not save it.

2nd half of the match

In the second half, Valencia started sharp attacks and high pressure. The host team was trying to score a game-tying goal, and soon they achieved the target.

In the 59th minute, Kondogbia could score an easy goal for Valencia. Marcos Llorente was responsible for marking Kondogbia, but he could not save the team from the goal. Valencia scored the second goal, tied the game, and started attacking more for a winning goal.

It was an unbelievable match until the end, but none of the teams could score more goals.
