After the cup matches, the weekend is back with hot games. Here are three of the most exciting matches of the weekend.

1. Manchester Derby

Whatever the form of the teams is, the Manchester derby is always a great football event.

Both clubs are in a good mood: Manchester City beat Real Madrid in the Champions League and made a big move to the quarter-finals. Guardiola’s side also advanced to Sheffield in the FA Cup eighth final and advanced to the next stage.

Guardiola has everything clear in the Premier League: City are firmly in 2nd place, and it is unlikely this will change, so Manchester City’s only concern should be to offer spectacular gameplay for local fans in Derby.

United are in a good mood as well: After a difficult start of 2020, the team found their place in the game, and the Red Devils have an 8-match unbeaten race.

Most notably in the squad of Bruno Fernandes – Portugal fit in well with the new team and has scored in all of their last three games. However, unlike the Citizens, United have a bigger problem ahead: they are fighting against Chelsea for the Champions League, and every point is vital to them.

2. Atalanta – Lazio

In this match, the two most capable Italian teams will face each other.

This season Atlanta is Europe’s most “funny” team. Lazio is behind only Atlanta in the number of balls scored. However, unlike their rivals, Lazio concedes very few goals (23 goals).

Only Inter have conceded fewer goals than Roma in Serie A (22). Though it should be noted that the team have played two games less.

Apart from the rain of goals, this match is also the tournament’s most crucial game, even in terms of the tournament situation.

Lazio is showing an excellent game this year, and the team is the only leader in the Italian Championship. The team has not been close to winning the top award for many years, so it is unnecessary to talk about their motivation.

In turn, Atlanta needs points too. The team is in the 4th position and is only 3 points ahead of the nearest champion.

3. Sevilla – Atletico

Spain have a big fight for the Champions League. Sevilla is in the 3 rd place and is ahead of Atletico by only 2 points. Winning is vital to both teams.

The teams are in good shape: Both sides have won five straight games. For Atlético, this season is probably the weakest in recent years. Still, in the second round, the team has improved significantly, gaining points and defeating Liverpool, one of the favorites in the Champions League. Noteworthy, that Sevilla also performs well at the European tournaments.

The last three clashes ended 1-1, with Atletico finally defeating Sevilla at home in 2017. The game between the teams is always characterized by high tension. Due to the style of play, the battle for each centimeter of the field is customary.

It is therefore not surprising that in the last three clashes, the referee has shown more than nine cards on average.
