Neymar suffered a hamstring injury a month ago playing against Brazil on international duty. He has not featured in any Paris St-Germain match since then.

When asked if it would be risky to play Neymar 90 minutes against Lille, Tuchel did not hesitate to reveal the status of the star who just returned to full training this week.

He said, “Yes, obviously it would be too risky to play 90 minutes tomorrow. If you ask Neymar, he won’t admit it. But yes, that is the way it is.”

It should come as a surprise that Neymar cannot play 90 minutes against Lille.  The decision made by his manager Tuchel is a smart one.

On the other side of Paris St Germain, the club will be looking to avenge their 5-1 loss to Lille last April. But perhaps, more importantly, they want to escape with no injuries.

But still, the match against Lille is a tricky one for Tuchel and PSG. The group will be without Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappe who got ill this week. According to the manager, Mbappe will train with the team but he is not sure if he will feature in the match because of a fever.

As much as the match against Lille is of importance, the club feels they are facing the rivals to prepare for another game against real Madrid in the Champions League.

This is the first time Tuchel has been able to train with his full squad. He undoubtfully hopes to keep it that way.
