United will present van de Beek in a few days. Van Persie gave some advice to his compatriot before moving to England.
Premier League veteran Robin van Persie has told compatriot Don van de Beek that he will have to ‘mentally adapt’ to England and a big team like Manchester United.
Van de Beek will be represented by United, where Van Persie played in 2012-15, in a few days. The clubs have already agreed on 40 40million, although the Dutchman’s personal details remain to be confirmed by the contract.
“He is 23 years old, and this is a wonderful age to move to the Premier League,” Van Persie told the Daily Telegraph. “I was younger when I got to Arsenal. I won the UEFA Cup with Feyenoord, but it meant nothing, I was nothing in the dressing room.”
“Don will probably be the most important addition this year. But then he discovers that all 22 players around him were once an important transfer. It must be remembered that the toughest matches await teams like Fulham and Crystal Palace are relentless battles on any part of the pitch in such meetings.”
“Physically, I do not think it will be difficult. Tactically, the last two seasons, he has gained a lot of experience at Ajax. So, I expect a better game from him at more European Cups this year.”
