The Vice President of the German Police Union addressed the Bundesliga chefs. Jorg Radek believes that the football league does not take everything into account.
Last Friday, the German Football League (DFL) held an online meeting with all 36 clubs in the first and second Bundesliga to update the season. DFL boss Christian Seifert said the final decision was the prerogative of politicians, and the German Football League would be ready for any date.
“It would be wrong for us to name a specific date. We can’t do that because we don’t have the competence either, and that’s not our business either. It is not up to us, the football league, to decide whether we will play football or not.
“Not every aspect is taken into account.”
Our task is to organize. The renewal of the Bundesliga in the first weekend of May is not real. If politicians decide that the German championship should be resumed on May 9, then we will be ready by May 9” Seifert said. According to the reliable sources, the Prime Ministers of the regions and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel will discuss the final decision on April 30.
Earlier, Vice President of the German Police Union Jorg Radek responded to the discussions on the renewal of the Bundesliga. In the interview he gave to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on Sunday, Radek said he did not agree with the idea of renewing football.
“First of all, I would like to say that the German police union is not against the renewal of the football season. I also understand that fans are tired of watching old games. But let’s not forget how special we are in the situation. The German Football League has the right to have a plan. But in my opinion, not every aspect of this plan is taken into account.
The renewal of the German football championship may have devastating consequences. Everything can be controlled at the stadium. But proper control outside the stadium is very difficult. We should not allow the gathering of fans. Such gatherings are not only forbidden but also irresponsible. The police will have to act accordingly if the order is not observed, ”Radek said.
