Yesterday we saw a very interesting performance from Uefa. Rafael Van Der Vaart and De Rossi were main characters yesterday. They formed the groups of European qualifiers for Fifa 2020. Keep in mind that we did not have a chance to enjoy Euro 2020, but it was not a problem for Uefa to form groups for the World Cup 2022.
Groups with five teams
Group A – Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal will play against Serbia in this group. Portugal was in first pot while Serbia was in second. Along with Serbia, Ronaldo’s team will play against Rep. of Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg. Experts believe that it won’t be easy for Portugal to qualify for World Cup 2022. Serbia is a very strong opponent and Portugal’s team knows about it.
Group B – Main team here is Spain with Sergio Ramos and Pique in defense. Unfortunately to Spanish fans, it won’t be easy for them to qualify for the final stage of the World Cup. First of all, Spain will play with Sweden and Greece. Those are two big teams that can play very good defensive matches. Keep in mind that Zlatan wants to return to Sweden, so it will be harder for Spain to take first place. Also, Georgia and Kosovo will be in this group.
Group C – Italy was in the first pot and De Rossi gave his national team a Group C spot. Keep in mind that Italy will play against Switzerland, Northern Ireland, Bulgaria and Lithuania.
Group D – The most interesting group will be D. France wanted an easy way out from qualifiers but De Rossi was thinking differently. Ukraine will be the main opponent of France, and you know how good Shevchenko’s team looks at home-stadium. They even defeated Spain. It won’t be easy for defending World Cup champions to qualify from first spot.
Group E – In this group Eden Hazard’s Belgium will play against Wales and other European teams – Czech Republic, Belarus, Estonia.
Groups with six teams
Group F is very interesting as Denmark, Austria, Scotland and Israel are together. It will be hard to find two main favorites in this group.
Group G – Netherlands may find it easy to qualify from this group of six national teams. Depay’s team will face Turkey, Norway, Latvia, Montenegro and Gibraltar.
Group H – Russia got a bit easy group when it comes to influential opponents. Russian team will play with Modric’s Croatia, Slovakia, Cyprus and Malta.
Group I – Harry Kane’s England will play with Poland and Hungary. These are two main opponents of England. We also see Albania, Andorra and San Marino in the group.
Group J – Main team of this group is Germany. Toni Kroos’ team will play against Romania, Iceland, North Macedonia, Armenia and Liechtenstein.
