Real Madrid lost their second match in a row. One was on Saturday against Cadiz and today the team lost against Shakhtar. DUring the Champions League match, Los Blancos could not impress fans.
Motivating players is a huge issue?
As it seems, Real Madrid players have motivational issues. After the match against Cadiz, Zidane met with the team members. He talked with all the players and explained the team’s lack of pressure and motivation. Marcelo, Luka Modric, Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and other players who won many trophies and it could be a problem with motivation. Unfortunately Zidane could not motivate old players as the team lost again.
1st half of the match
Zinedine Zidane started the match with a very different formation. First of all, French coach gave a chance to Luka Jovic. It was unexpected watching him playing from a very first minute. Zidane gave him very few minutes in the last few matches, so this was very unexpected. Along with Luka Jovic, Rodrygo and Asensio were playing in the attacking line. Team could not do anything in the attacking line but conceded three goals in first.
First of all, Shakhtar forwards had many moments, Courtois saved the team in many ways. Unfortunately to Real Madrid, Courtois could not save three shots. Shakhtar easily scored three goals in the first half. It was the worst defensive performance from Real Madrid in a long time.
2nd half of the match
Karim Benzema was the first substitution and he replaced Rodrygo. Brazilian youngster played poorly in the first 45 minutes. Karim Benzema could not make an impact but Luka did. Luka Modric scored a screamer soon after starting the second half. After Luka’s goal, Zidane made another replacement. Junior Vinicius entered the pitch and scored the goal right away. In just a few seconds, Junior scored his first season goal in the Champions League and decreased the lead of opponent. Unfortunately to Real Madrid fans, the team could not score a third goal. Real Madrid lost home-match against Shakhtar: 2-3.
