Zidane’s only focus is Real Madrid’s return to LaLiga
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane dismissed the transfer speculations around the club and Erling Haaland. He said that “everyone does what they want” and that he only cares about questions on the field of play. Haaland is being advertised in Europe by his agent Mino Raiola. He met with Barcelona yesterday and is rumoured to have had meetings with most of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid. Zidane, however, declined to be drawn into the conversation. He stated that his only focus is Real Madrid’s return to Liga action this weekend at home to Eibar. And that he is not concerned about Raiola, Haaland or any other transfer business.

Zidane said: “The stronger you are, the more criticised you will be. There will always be criticism for all players, even if they played well. Wonderful things will always be said about him when something good is done, but also, something bad will be said. Here we are accustomed to that.” After Eibar, Real Madrid have a potentially season-defining fixture week. Their Clasico meeting with Barcelona in LaLiga is sandwiched between the two legs of their Champions League quarter-finals against Liverpool.
