What can Zidane change?
French coach noted that he is not going to change anything on a serious level. Zinedine Zidane said that the squad is working harder than ever but changing is not an option. The head coach said that his main goal is to keep up with every possible point in La Liga and Champions League.
Rotations in the squad
Zinedine Zidane said that rotation is part of the game. He said that without rotating players, they can get injuries easily. That’s why Los blancos players are injured in most cases. For instance, Marcelo, Carvajal, Benzema, Hazard, Casemiro and many other players were already injured this season. Zidane said that injuries could be a serious problem for the team, so he has to rotate. Zinedine added that Fede Valverde is not 100% ready for the match and he will get only 60 minutes. As it seems, Fede will be substituted after 60 minutes against Athletic Bilbao. Zidane said that rotating the main squad is the goal of the club. If rotation goes well, then Real Madrid can win La Liga and the Champions League.
Marcelo’s position
As you may know, Marcelo is not playing in the main squad anymore. He was not included in the main line-up in La Liga or Champions League games. He played only a few games from the very first minute. Experts believe that Marcelo is not the same and Mendy is a perfect option. Zidane said that Mendy is playing a lot in these matches and he will need rotation on this position too. So, Marcelo will get his chance soon.
