Real Madrid players suffer from injuries and abscences
Zinedine Zidane was left disturbed by what he saw from his Real Madrid side, as they were fell to a surprise defeat at Alaves on Saturday afternoon. Alaves led an early lead at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano and even had a 2-0 lead before Casemiro scored late to give Los Blancos some hope. “They scored in three minutes, and things got tough,” Zidane said after the game. “The other day, we played well at Milan, but today, we saw a different reality. We have to keep working, recovering players and changing the dynamics. We have no regularity. It was our worst start of the season, and we haven’t been able to change the dynamics of the game. That bothers, and it worries me.” When asked if his side is still struggling in LaLiga, Zidane reiterated the lack of regularity at Madrid, because their players suffer from injuries and absences.
“The problem is regularity,” added the coach. “We have a lot of injury problems. It’s not an excuse, but it’s reality. There is no explanation.” Eden Hazard was withdrawn in the first half with an injury that seemed muscular, although the coach hopes for something else. “I think and hope it is an impact injury,” Zidane said. “I hope it’s not muscular”. Madrid took just one point out of the last nine on offer domestically, and won only seven of their 14 games this term, leaving the coach looking for solutions. “I have to find solutions with the players,” Zidane said. “I’m not going to say that they are here. We can’t just think about the negatives. We need to see what we did well and try to be more consistent.”
